Interluxe was founded on the idea that there is a better and more efficient way to buy and sell luxury real estate in the days of the information revolution. Scott Kirk, a 10-year industry veteran, worked for the largest luxury real estate auction house in the country, where he daily witnessed the frustrations that buyers, sellers, and agents face in the traditional listing format. Sellers experience a lack of interest, lowball or contingency-laden offers, and closing delays. Buyers have difficulty assessing the current value of a home in order to make a fair offer and avoid overpaying. Agents have difficulty differentiating their listings from those of their peers. The list goes on. Throughout this time, Scott had the pleasure of representing some of the world’s finest homes through auction and helping clients overcome these challenges. However, he continued to observe inefficiencies and problems that plagued an entire industry.
So, in 2012, Scott set out to reinvent the traditional luxury real estate sales process. He created an innovative online marketplace that addresses these needs as well as overcomes the challenges of an industry that lacks innovation and transparency. Interluxe launched in May of 2013 as a marketplace where sellers and their agents could promote their properties to a global audience using a defined, built-in and accelerated sales process to maximize urgency and yield timely results.
The platform allows fast and accurately set market pricing for luxury homes through an open and competitive bidding process which offers a level of liquidity and reach like no other. In fact, one of Interluxe’s notable early successes was a $2.3M sale in a market which hadn’t seen a $2M+ home sale in more than two years. The other remarkable fact about this sale was that the winning bidder was participating sight unseen from the opposite end of the country. It was then that Scott knew the platform was an idea whose time had come, and that it could connect buyers and sellers worldwide.
In 2015, Scott was joined by his sister, Stacy Kirk, who had previously co-founded what was at one time the largest luxury real estate auction company in the country. Together, they bring more than 35 years of luxury real estate auction experience to help transform luxury real estate dreams into realities. To date, Interluxe has represented property in more than 27 states and territories in the United States and abroad.
